PPN Leaving the Cake Network and US Market

08/26/2011

US Players will have one less option when looking for a new Poker Site after Poker Pro's Network (PPN) announce they will leave the US Market at the end of August.

PPN Gears Up for European Market With Exciting Announcement Regarding New Proprietary Software Features

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Aug 25, 2011) - In an effort to comply with current US legislation, Poker Pros Network recently adjusted its URL to PPNpoker.eu. In addition, PPNpoker.eu will be moved to a proprietary network in the near future. As a result, PPNpoker.eu announced today that it will be leaving Cake Network.

Effective midnight EST, August 31st, PPNpoker.eu will not longer be accepting US player registrations. However, current US players, and those that have registered prior to the separation, will be permitted an exemption based on preexisting agreements with PPNpoker.com and PPNpoker.eu.

PPNpoker.eu executives and staff estimate the unveiling of unique proprietary software will take place in early Fall, with a beta introduction of exciting new features, such as live dealers and "dealers' choice" games.

"We here at PPN are dedicated to improving our software, creating a safe environment for players to compete, and encouraging our pros to be available to customers at all stake levels," said owner Chuck Kidd. "It's been a lot of work, but what we're introducing later this year should turn the online poker industry on its head."

PPNpoker team members include 2010 Belgian POY Kevin "Civell" Vandersmissen, Neil Stewart, Neil McFayden, Matias Gabrenja, Stefan Mattsson, Vincent "Diamond 8" Gabel, Michael "swisstard" Scheurpf, James Worth, and more.

The announcement from PPN comes only 6 months after they joined the Cake Network. It appears that PPN has made the decision that the current Poker Climate in the US is a legitimate risk and that a move was necessary to protect themselves and their players

With US Poker Sites already struggling to find, and maintain, consistent processing options PPN's move could also have potential 'ripple affects' throughout the US Online Poker Industry. The owner of PPN Poker, Chuck Kidd, also owns the processing companies Pic-Club and MyPaylinQ which process payments for several US friendly Gambling and Poker Sites including Everleaf(Minted Poker, RaiseandFold, etc..) and Bodog. The press release did not mention either of the processors.
